Nurture meaningful relationships with local, regional and national accounts for each of the radio properties.  Responsible for planning and implementing sales programs and incentives designed to maximize sales revenues and achieve revenue goals set forth by the company as well as develop and execute marketing solutions for our clients.

Essential Functions

  • Plans and strategizes creative market penetration in order to achieve short and long term sales and business objectives
  • Manages pricing strategy and recommends action and enforcement
  • Review sales proposals and negotiate with clients
  • Generate revenue through selling various advertising strategies ( Branding, Action Campaigns, Seasonal, Event Marketing, Ideal lead selling, Recruiting, Sponsorships and tools like on air promotions, radio advertising strategies and sponsorships of programs
  • Spend at least 80% of work time engaging in sales and solicitations outside of the office
  • Proactively prospect and perpetually grow their contact list with three sales objectives.  Retain and Increase present client base, develop New Business Revenue and maximize revenues.
  • Build business from advertisers who have local marketing budgets
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
  • Engage and strategize with senior level executives on the client side to demonstrate how MTM Radio can help meet their objectives
  • Stay abreast of the competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position MTM in the marketplace
  • Provide exceptional customer service for your clients.  We are looking for Account Executives that will be a resource to our clients and use a consulting style approach for marketing solutions for our clients.

Other Functions

  • Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the framework of My Town Media’s business objectives


  • Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of broadcasting, pricing inventory, ratings, marketing, promotion and collection standards
  • Extensive knowledge for sales principles and practices
  • Strong leadership and negotiating skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ensures that regular, consistent communications takes place with current and potential clients
  • Is open with team members about concerns and provides constructive feedback
  • Is accountable for achieving departmental goals and standards
  • Computer literacy in applicable programs ( Power point, Word and Excel )
  • Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines

Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

  • Able to do occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs

  • Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

  • Able to travel including overnight stays

Education/Work Experience

  • Associates degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent level of experience preferred

  • 2+ years of successful radio sales experience preferred; preferably in small or medium size markets

  • Must possess valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Salary: DOE $30k Draw plus commissions
