Process accounts payable and provide general administrative support to the accounting department.

Essential Functions

Accounts Payable Processing – Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.  Code documents according to company procedures.  Debit, credit and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.  Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to expenditures, accounts payables, profits and losses. 

Accounts Receivable – Prepare and mail monthly statements as directed.

Administrative Support – Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, processing paperwork, maintain schedules, creating presentations and other tasks as requested.

Other Functions

Provide other accounting and administrative support as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively to provide information to coworkers and other departments with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  • Strong knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and designing forms.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Able to process work with accuracy and with strong attention to detail.

Progress towards Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related discipline preferred.

Work Experience

Requires some previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience.  Oil industry accounting knowledge a plus.
